About us

We’re a global organization committed to developing high-quality seeds that allow communities to flourish.

Over a hundred years ago, Jan Broersen began selling cabbage seeds to local growers in Tuitjenhorn, the Netherlands. Through the years, his company joined forces with another called Seedfarm Zwaan. And then another: a cooperative called Hazera Israel, established in 1939 in the kibbutz tradition – bringing life to Israeli agriculture for generations.

Today we work together as Hazera, drawing from over a century of experience and working directly with growers to deliver seed solutions to all our partners. Our tasty, nourishing fruit and veg are loved by communities around the world.

Working side by side with partners

Hazera has headquarters in both the Netherlands and Israel. We operate subsidiaries in 12 more countries, together with a distribution network serving over 130 markets.

Our partners operate in all kinds of climates, and under diverse growing conditions and market requirements. For over a century, our top priority has been walking alongside them, developing an enormous variety of seeds and providing comprehensive support every step of the way.

Hazera’s team of experts works directly with growers to evaluate their needs, assist during variety selection and provide guidance and support throughout the crop cycle.

A century of innovation

We also work to inspire the global agricultural community through dedicated research. And we partner with leading institutions to apply cutting-edge science when developing solutions our customers have come to trust and rely on.

Part of the Limagrain Group

Hazera is also part of the Limagrain Group, an international farmers’ cooperative based in France. Through hands-on knowledge of customers’ needs, Limagrain has grown into the largest seed company in Europe, specializing in vegetables, field crops and cereals.

The vegetable seed division at Limagrain is the largest in the industry.
